LAKE TITICACA

Lake Titicaca is located between Peru and Bolivia. The  biggest  lake of the high altitude in the world, about 3800m above the sea level.  The 1st  Inca emperor, Manco Capac was born in the lake.  It is popular that traveling around from Puno city when you are in the Peruvian side of the lake.  Sillustani ruin, huge pre-Inca tombs and Chichuito Inca ruin are popular visiting sites.

 ISLANDS IN THE LAKE

 1 UROS ISLAND
 Uros Islands are made of reeds. People live there. People cut reeds from the lake and pile them on the ground every few months so that the island would not drowned.  The people of the Uros live in the reed house, use reed boats between islands, even eat reeds roots for their diet.  These days they are raising cattle and planting potatoes on the island.

 2       TAQUILE ISLAND
 The Taquile taxable is very famous for its design and the colors.  The  men and women on the island are still wearing traditional costumes every day.  For marriage, a bride weaves her bridegroom's clothes and the bridegroom weaves his bride's clothes and they throw away their old clothes after getting married.
